Stone Work

Skillway students on our working in stone courses are provided with an introduction into the art of calligraphy and the study of the classical Roman alphabet. The course encourages students to understand and apply the proportions of letters, and teaches them how how to carve letters in stone and ‘V’ cut in shallow relief.

Each student is given the project of making their own paperweight out of stone.
